This is the continuation to the story of Business Thieves. Pugazhendhi thought that he was fully out of the case. But he finds that he is not too far from the business thieves.They are after him.

 

Chapter 22: Ramamoorthy’s case

Date: 21st July 2012, Saturday

Place: Pazhamathur

 

Pugazhendhi reached his office by 9.30 a.m. in the morning.

As he entered his cabin, a man of around 38 years old was sitting in his cabin.

 

He wore a white shirt and a white dhoti.

He was black in colour.

 

He said, “Good morning sir”

Pugazhendhi said, “Good morning, what can I do for you?”

 

He said, “Sir, my name is Ramamoorthy”

Pugazhendhi said, “Tell me Ramamoorthy sir”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “I am running a travels agency in chengalpattu”

Pugazhendhi said,”Chengalpattu does not come in our circle sir”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “My house is in Kolambakkam”

Pugazhendhi said,”Ok, what is your problem”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “I also do the sales of second-hand cars”

Pugazhendhi said,”Ok”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “I have a storage shed in Udayambakkam, which is near the river bank”

Pugazhendhi said,”ok”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “I use that storage shed for storing my unsold cars”

Pugazhendhi said,”mhmm”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “Last night, my shed was set to fire”

Pugazhendhi exclaimed, “What?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “Yes sir”

Ramamoorthy added, “I had 10 different models of second-hand cars stored there”

 

Ramamoorthy continued, “All the 10 cars are now burnt and useless”

Pugazhendhi said,”Oh! what is the total value of all the cars?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “A value of 25 lakhs in second-hand market”

Pugazhendhi said, “How did it happen?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “It was around night 12 O clock”

Ramamoorthy added, “My security guy got hit from the back in his head”

 

Pugazhendhi asked, “How many securities you placed for the shed?”

Ramamoorthy said, “One person”

 

Pugazhendhi asked, “Why did you keep only one person?”

Ramamoorthy said, “Sir, the net value of my assets over there was Rs.25 lakhs”

 

Ramamoorthy asked, “How many persons will I place there for security?”

Pugazhendhi said,”mmm…ok, then what happened next?”

 

Ramamoorthy said,” He got unconscious “

Ramamoorthy added,” and when he woke up it was morning 6 O clock”

 

Pugazhendhi asked,”Oh, throughout the night was he unconscious?”

Ramamoorthy said, “Yes, and he found all the cars burnt into ashes in the shed”

 

Ramamoorthy added, “After that he informed me, I went to the shed and saw the situation”

Pugazhendhi said, “Was there no people around your shed?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “No sir, it is a remote area and a single building”

Ramamoorthy continued, “The residential zone is at a distant location from my shed”

 

Pugazhendhi asked, “So, your shed has been burnt down in a silent manner?”

Ramamoorthy said, “Yes sir”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Was the security guy near to the fire or far away from the fire?”

Ramamoorthy said, “He got dragged from the shed and left outside the building”

 

Ramamoorthy added,” before setting the fire”

Pugazhendhi said,”Oh! was he dragged out?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “Yes sir”

Pugazhendhi said, “So the people did not want him to die?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “Yes sir”

Pugazhendhi asked, “Is he a reliable security guy?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “His name is muthu and he is with me for more than 5 years sir”

Pugazhendhi said, “So, you trust him?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “Yes, he is innocent and from a poor family”

Pugazhendhi said,”Hmmm, do you have any other person like a partner or somebody?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “I am doing family business, all my partners are brothers and in-laws”

Pugazhendhi asked,”Hmmm…so there cannot be a suspect from your family members?”

 

Ramamoorthy said, “Definitely not”

Pugazhendhi said,”Hmmm…Ok, will I see the site?”

 

Ramamoorthy said,”Ok sir”

Pugazhendhi said,”Ok, come on let us go”
